As part of our new series, we caught up with Artist Member Alis Lopez this month. Alis is a Mexican-American filmmaker, artist, and sound designer currently working and living in San Francisco. Alis was also one of two filmmakers selected for the inaugural HV Film Incubator program. She talks about her experience discovering HieronyVision and the Artist Member Community, as well as what it’s been like to make a movie with the HV team.

Coming from an artistic background, Alis takes a unique approach as a filmmaker. Her work reflects a strong connection to dreams, omens and symbols, informed by her background with experimental sonic narratives and spiritualist. She explains how she developed this cinematic philosophy and how it shapes her work and life.
