HV and Film Independent are excited to announce the winners of the 10×10 contest for 2025. For this year’s contest, we awarded one year of Artist Memberships to 10 emerging filmmakers from CalArts, Columbia, UCLA, and Yale. The winners also received a full year of Filmmaker Pro memberships from Film Independent. As HV Artist Members, each of the winners receives a dedicated Artist Member page, individualized mentorship, access to all HV events, and work opportunities.

Just as with our winners from 2024, HV has invited all the winners and finalists to participate in the HV Film Incubator, which is designed to help filmmakers independently develop, produce, market, and distribute their first microbudget feature. Starting this month, we will host weekly seminar meetings offering advice and inspiring discussion about how first-time filmmakers can make a great film working on a miniscule budget level. Our goal is to support the next generation of filmmakers at a time when the traditional models both inside and outside of the Hollywood system have failed. We believe the next film movement will emerge at the microbudget level and hope to inspire these talented young directors, writers, and storytellers.

We continue to enjoy our partnership with Film Independent on this contest and in other events dedicated to the microbudget film community. As part of our shared commitment to microbudget and independent cinema we are happy to support the next generation of rising directors, screenwriters, actors, artists, and more in this group. For more information about these talented young filmmakers, check out their Artist Member Pages on HV in the next few weeks! We will also be featuring the winners in the monthly Artist Spotlights here on the Garden, so check our site regularly and/or follow us on social media to make sure you never miss an update (including contest announcements like this one)!
