Ceci Sewell is a screenwriter, filmmaker, and visual artist currently pursuing a degree in Film & Media Studies at Columbia University. Born on the west side of Chicago and raised in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley, her work is shaped by the rawness of her roots and the layered perspective gained from navigating multiple cultural worlds. As a Black woman, mother, and storyteller, Ceci is drawn to narratives that explore identity, history, and legacy. Inspired by a lineage of artists and early exposure to film—watching her mother work as an assistant director and actress—Ceci developed a deep passion for storytelling.
